We do accept frozen meat but it has to have been processed by a licensed butcher.
For wild game, the process is a bit different.
You have to have had the animal in question tested for CWD. The process is free and can take from two to eight weeks to get the results back. (You can go to the official website, CWD Saskatchewan and follow their instructions for the tags.) During that time, you will have to keep the meat properly stored.
You will need to show us both the results for the animal(s) you are donating (it must be disease-free) and the butcher’s receipt.
One of the easiest ways to donate wild meat to the food bank is to go through Hunters With Hearts and/or Sask Polytechnic.
